Amsterdam based musician & producer Sleepin Giant has been making music since 2002. He entered the music scene as a scratch DJ and evolved from there. His love for 70’s vinyl combined with his interest in tech logically led Sleepin Giant to sampling. Soulful hiphop beats were his first musical output.

In the following years he mastered several instruments, broadening his musical horizon. Along the way he dropped three EP’s and several remixes, collabs and tracks.17 years later, he now is a composer/musician/producer and engineer combined in one, ready to tell his stories and share with you.

'I love records. I love beats. When Lewis James linked me to JUSTGOODBEATS it was pretty clear to me, we had to see if we could do something together. I love the fact that the entire release is done with love, from the sleeve and record to the stamps and stickers. It all has that handmade print to it, something you don't see a lot in this modern world of ours.

As for the beats on this release, that's the kind of stuff I enjoy listening to myself. Laidback beats with a nod factor to it. It's the type of music i can always go back to, take a record from my collection, flip it or use no samples at all and play everything. It doesn't really matter to me, as long as the output is something that I can bump in my car.

With that said, a couple of shout outs : Lewis James for linking JGB and myself, Adam and his wife for doing what they're doing with the label, my wife Taina for her everlasting love and support and my dog Igor for keeping it 100 (be kind to animals, they're dope). Last thing, this is my first release on JGB and I'm pretty sure you haven't seen (or heard) the last of this combination. Hope you enjoy!'
